Martin Allen is hoping to bring two new players to Whaddon Road before Cheltenham's weekend clash against Stockport, according to reports.

The identities of the duo are unknown but it is believed the new Robins boss attended a fixture on Tuesday night with the intention of tying up a deal after the game, having already verbally agreed to bring another player in from a separate club.

Meanwhile, it is reported that trialist Darren Kenton has been asked to train with the club for a further fortnight after impressing for Cheltenham's reserves in their 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

However, fellow trialists Kevin Tunani and Ryan Burge will not be handed opportunities having failed to impress enough to earn a deal.

Speaking after the reserve defeat to Cheltenham on Tuesday night, Robins assistant manager Bob Bloomer told the club's official website: "Darren Kenton did quite well for 75 minutes but needs more games to build up his fitness.

"Kevin Tunani also did okay but Martin (Allen) will not be taking things any further with him."
