League One side Cheltenham have swooped to snap up young midfielder Lewis Montrose on loan from Premier League outfit Wigan.
Montrose is a versatile youngster who can play in either central midfield or at right-back, but Robins boss Martin Allen may see him as an ideal temporary replacement for the injured David Bird.
The 19-year-old started for Wigan in their Carling Cup second-round victory over Notts County back in August.
Montrose is Allen's third new loan signing since taking over at Whaddon Road, with more expected to follow.
