Martin Allen bolstered his midfield ranks with another loan signing on Wednesday as Josh Payne joined up with his Cheltenham side.
The West Ham youngster, 17, arrives on a month-long loan deal - hot on the heels of Lewis Montrose who signed from Wigan earlier in the day.
Payne, who captains the Hammers' youth side, will join Montrose in linking up with Cheltenham's first-team squad on Thursday and both will be available for Saturday's encounter against Stockport.
A West Ham spokesman told Cheltenham's official website: "Josh plays in the centre of midfield but has also played in the centre of defence.
"He is an energetic player who has good close control and an eye for goal. Josh is captain of our Under-18's this season and is very highly thought of at this club."
