Veteran striker Barry Hayles has returned to Leicester after Cheltenham boss Martin Allen opted not to extend his loan spell at Whaddon Road.
The 36-year-old enjoyed a two-month period with the Robins and leaves the club on a high having grabbed a 95th-minute winner in Saturday's dramatic 4-3 victory over Colchester - his third goal in seven games.
Allen, who now has six loan players on his books, told the club's official website: "He is a player that I wanted to keep but unfortunately I have had to strengthen in other areas and was unable to budget for keeping him here.
"Lloyd Owusu was superb on Saturday, Paul Connor was superb against Walsall, Ashley Vincent is on fire and Stuart Fleetwood will keep getting better with more games and will get goals. On top of that, I am hoping Damian Spencer will be back training with us next week.
"Hopefully you can see that I have strength in the forward positions and I'm sure you can work out where we need to improve."
Meanwhile, Ian Westlake and Johnny Hayes are currently on trial with the Robins and are both set to feature for the reserves against Swindon on Tuesday night with a view to possible loan deals from Leeds and Leicester respectively.
