With Martin Allen on gardening leave, the Robins assistant was in charge for last weekend's 1-1 draw at Port Vale where a much-improved performance helped end a run of successive defeats.

The clash against Alex will be Schofield's first home game since being handed handed the reins on a temporary basis last week and he is sure to receive a warm welcome from the Whaddon Road faithful.

Defender Lee Ridley enjoyed a full training session on Thursday as he looks to build up his match fitness following an ankle injury, and a decision regarding his involvement will be made over the next 24 hours.

On-loan midfielder Oliver Bozanic has resumed light training and could possibly return in around two weeks having been sidelined since the end of August with a knee injury. Captain Shane Duff (Achilles), however, remains out until early next year.

Frankie Artus and Holmar Eyjolfsson will be playing in their final game before their current loan deals come to an end, although new agreements could be agreed for the pair next week.
