John Schofield will again take his place in the dugout for Cheltenham as the Robins look to end an 11-match winless streak against Barnet.
The club are hoping to finally settle the drawn-out uncertainty surrounding Martin Allen's future at the club early this week having met with him and his solicitors last Friday.
But acting manager Schofield has been told he will take charge of team affairs for a sixth time against the Bees knowing that defeat, along with results elsewhere, could put them in the bottom two come the end of Tuesday night.
On the pitch, the Robins will be without defenders Lee Ridley and Michael Townsend for around two weeks as they both recover from calf injuries while captain Shane Duff (Achilles) remains out until early next year.
Recent loan acquisitions Ben Marshall and Joss Labadie are both in line to make their home debuts.
Substitute goalkeeper Barry Richardson serves the second game of a three-match suspension for his red card at Lincoln.
