Manager Keith Alexander was frustrated by Macclesfield's fourth draw in five league games as they came away from Grimsby with a 0-0 stalemate.
Matthew Tipton wasted Town's best chance late on in a dull contest at Blundell Park.
"We weren't at the races in the first 15 minutes but after that we dominated and created enough chances to win two or three games," Alexander said.
"But everybody knows that's our problem, we just can't put the ball in the back of the net.
"I'm looking for a striker but it's not easy when you haven't got any money and I'm just very disappointed that we couldn't win this game to begin to get the crowd back on side."
