Centre-back Graeme Lee is close to sealing a switch to Bradford City after holding talks with the Bantams on Friday morning.
The 30-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday defender has been released by Doncaster after making 70 appearances for the South Yorkshire side.
Bradford boss Stuart McCall is keen to add another central defender to his ranks after the retirement of David Wetherall and City have beaten off stiff competition from a host of other clubs to lure Lee to Valley Parade.
League One outfit Scunthorpe and League Two rivals Shrewsbury have been chasing the signature of Lee - who spent a period on loan with Hartlepool and the Shrews last season.
Lee made nine appearances, and only one for Doncaster last term after struggling with injuries throughout the campaign, but he will put pen to paper on a contract next week.
The Bantams have been linked with ex-defender Darren Moore, but Lee's imminent arrival could mean McCall has missed out on the veteran centre-back.
