The Iron midfielder climbed off the bench to score the opener in the 2-1 victory over John Ward's men at Glanford Park.

Sparrow is now pushing for a place in boss Nigel Adkins' starting XI at Hereford on Saturday.

"I've felt quite sharp the last couple of weeks but the gaffer has told me to be patient," said Sparrow.

"I know we have a big squad but everyone just wants to play.

"Hopefully I've given him something to think about next week and he might start me."
