Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has praised Wayne Rooney and told the striker not to get upset about his goal drought.
The England international heads into the match against Aston Villa on Saturday at Old Trafford having failed to find the target in six games.
Ferguson, however, believes there is much more to Rooney than just goals.
The United boss was full of praise for the player's all-round performance in the emphatic defeat of Liverpool on Sunday.
He said: "I was speaking to Alex Miller (Liverpool coach) after the game and we both agreed Wayne was unbelievable.
"He was great all day. You just had to look at his aggression, his control and his penetration.
"I have not one problem with the boy. I hope he plays as badly for the rest of the season. That will do for me."

"i think rooney should be playing more or less like what paul scholes does for united..paul scholes did start as a forward and dropped back to midfield and it worked wonders for him..."

"rooney is worth much more to united than just goals - his appetite and work rate are world class. however, what this does is increase the pressure on united's other strikers to score regularly. if ronaldo had gone done (or were to go down) for any length of time it would be a tough ask to find the goals consistently from tevez and rooney. it is really too bad that saha cant step it up and i hate to admit it, can no longer be relied on in the long term. he brings something different, but is far too injury prone to be counted on. we need a goal poacher in the mold of RVN to guarantee us 20 goals. any thoughts on who would fit this? DEFINTITELY not ronaldinho "

"I honestly am missing it when it comes to Rooney...i watched the Liverpool game again just to watch him and he didn't do anything out of the ordinary..DevilSiddy....i see your point that you can be a important player to the team without scoring...but the guy has had 3 poor seasons in front of the posts now...i think rooney should be incorporated into a position for both england and Utd like what Deco fills for barca...behind a front 2...any thoughts?"
