Championship new-boys Nottingham Forest are set to complete the free signing of veteran striker Andrew Cole on a 12-month contract.
The 36-year-old Nottingham-born player was released by Sunderland at the end of last season and should officially sign a one-year deal at the City Ground next week.
Cole is Forest's fourth signing of the summer as manager Colin Calderwood prepares for next term in the second tier.
The forward, who has also had spells with Newcastle, Manchester United, Blackburn, Fulham, Manchester City and Portsmouth, is second top scorer behind Alan Shearer in the history of the Premier League.
Cole also has Championship experience after scoring six goals in 13 appearances while on loan at Burnley last season.
