Rovers add £3m to Ince's warchest

Paul Ince has been given a £3million transfer boost after the Jack Walker Trustees decided to reinstate their annual payment to Blackburn.

The trustees had ended their funding when the latest bumper TV deal kicked in last season but promised to review the decision every year.

The change of manager and the looming possibility of a takeover of Blackburn have now prompted them to restore the funding.

Rovers chairman John Williams said: "The trustees are going to put some more in this year and see where we go from there, so we are delighted.

"It will help us to remain competitive, and help Paul Ince as well.

"It was only last year at the onset of the new TV deal that the money was not paid and it was always left that we would review the situation."

"giddy, unlike Spurs, we don't spend 40 odd million a season on overated and overhyped players. Name me one player you signed last season during the summer that was a success?"

ALTERULES (Chelsea fan)

"If I was in paul ince's position I would sell bentley for a rediculously inflated price like 18 million to some idiot like Rafa Benitez and then go to tottenham for Lennon or us for wright philips. 2 english wingers with plenty of potential to be nearly as effective as bentley and either would cost under 10 million,in lennons case i heard a figuare of 6 million quoted, Thats a bargain. Now that would be great business."

Villaininme (Aston Villa fan)

"wow who will ince sign with all that money i mean hughes did a great job with transfers on a small budget ie samba, mccarthy, warnock ect "
