Al Habsi ponders Wanderers future

Goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi insists he is happy at Bolton but would have to carefully consider any offer to move away from the Reebok Stadium.

The Oman international, who has one year remaining on his Trotters contract, is likely to remain as Jussi Jaaskelainen's understudy this season after the Finland international signed a four-year contract extension.

Al Habsi, who made 10 Premier League appearances last season, has discussed the prospect of leaving Bolton with his agent Peter Harrison, with persistent reports linking him with Turkey's Galatasaray, newly-promoted West Brom and Championship side Ipswich.

The 26-year-old said: "I spoke to Peter after my return from Muscat two days ago but there is nothing clear yet.

"All the offers that were mentioned are not yet official and even if they become official, I must study them well."

Al Habsi, who moved to Bolton from FC Lyn Oslo in January 2006 after signing a pre-contract agreement in 2005, dismissed suggestions he is unhappy and is optimistic ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

"Any decision should be studied very well but the truth is that I'm comfortable here at Bolton and I'm taking part in the training sessions and everything is good for me with the team," he added.

"Everything is going so good and I still have one year in my contract with Bolton and hopefully things will be good for me this season."

"the only thing rite abt what lanner is saying is that al-habsi shd be number one. but then u said he wud be "stupid to leave us for anyone not in european competition"? er u guys are in europe this season? why dun i know? n the reason he contemplated ipswich in the 1st place is cuz u will be in the same division as them come may! hahaha i say al-habsi go before u go down with the trotters! hahaha. n duno why muamba even bothered"

"i am not a wanderers fan but you have to agree that, based on last season's performance, al-habsi deserves to start the new season as the #1 at bolton. it should be jussi who now has to oust him. hope al-habsi carries on in the prem."

Ianner (Bolton Wanderers fan)

"I am seriously fed up with this Peter Harrison fellow. He represents both our keepers and has spent the time since big sam left constantly stirring the pot about one or both of his players. He's not happy until he gets a transfer for one of them & claims a fee I'm sure and it has a negative effect on the club. Ali is a class keeper, and I think better than Jussi now. If he doesn't begin the season as number one, something is wrong. He's waited his time and taken his chance. Talk of WBA & Ipswich coming in are absurd as he'd be stupid to leave us for anyone not in european competition, but I hope he stays, he could be the best in the prem if given a long run. Let's hope his agent shuts his mouth & lets football do the talking, but somehow I doubt it."
