Tevez: Ron should get Real deal

Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has broken ranks by claiming Cristiano Ronaldo should be allowed to join Real Madrid if he wishes.

Ronaldo: Keen on move to Spain
Ronaldo: Keen on move to Spain

Ronaldo has been the transfer story of the summer, with the Portugal winger expressing his desire to play for Real, who in turn have made him their number one target.

United have been furious with Real's public pursuit of the player, once again reiterating this week that they have no intention of selling their prize asset.

But Old Trafford team-mate Tevez has risked incurring the wrath of Sir Alex Ferguson by claiming the European champions should not stand in Ronaldo's way if he wants to leave.

"The [United] team has great players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, of course," Tevez told AS.

"It's clear that he is a very important player for us, but this is a personal decision, which is up to only him.

"I understand Cristiano. Every footballer wants to play at Real Madrid. On the other hand, I also think that everyone wants to play for Manchester United, but if what he seeks is something else, I think that should be respected.

"I have not talked to him, but when these things happen, neither side feels good."

"Why would anyone take notice of anything printed in the spanish press, that is, unless you are a man utd hater and are so desperate for the worlds best player to leave us, for all his spending at chelsea the russian hasn't anything to compare to ronaldo, must be frustrating for him, liverpool just have nothing but average players and one thats had one good season after years of mediocrity in spain. "Beriko(Arsenal Fan);that's the funniest comment I have ever seen a while! What will you think of Next?"

"I actually agree with Tevez. Let's face it, non of us would want to be in the same team with a player who wants out. Especially after building a solid comradery for nearly a year and going through hell to finally win something. Tevez along with Rooney and the rest of the squad were the guys putting in the work to supply him with those 40 odd goals. Now CR's head has gone into the stratosphere and he forgets that it was players like Tevez doing the donkey work that supplied him those 40 goals. I'd be pi**ed off as well. Another poster mentioned that Tevez and CR may not be getting along. I actually agree with that. I think it started from CR preventing Tevez from getting his hat trick by taking the penalty against, I think it was wigan."
