Albion will not announce that a deal has been formally completed for the 23-year-old Spaniard until one or two loose ends have been tied up - but club sources are confident the deal will go ahead.

And his representative Martan Paledes is adamant that a four-year deal has been agreed.

Paledes said: "This has gone through with West Brom and we are very pleased. Borja is really pleased and relishing the chance to play in the Premier League in England."

Valero began his career during the youth ranks at Real Madrid before making his senior debut in a Spanish Cup match against cija Balompi in October 2006.

He also came on as a substitute in a Champions League match.

Borja impressed Albion boss Tony Mowbray in a pre-season friendly 10 days ago at The Hawthorns and his Mallorca team-mates Nunes and Oscar Trejo have also been linked strongly with moves to the Premier League club.

But Baggies sources are adamant that, although Nunes has been watched, no bid has been made for the player.

It has been clear Valero's future was no longer with Mallorca after expressing a desire to leave.
