Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has ruled out a move to bring former Arsenal and West Ham star Freddie Ljungberg to Fratton Park.
Reports had suggested that Pompey were tracking the former West Ham and Arsenal man as a solution to their on-going right-sided problems.
The veteran midfielder is a free agent following his release by the Hammers this summer, with a number of clubs around the world rumoured to be interested in his services.
However, Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie insists the South Coast side are not one of them, especially as they currently have ex-Barcelona star Thiago Motta on trial.
He told The News: "Ljungberg will not be coming, definitely not. We have no interest in him. Motta is here at the moment and we are having at look at him.
"He's been having medicals to see how he is and we will take it from there."
Another player who continues to be linked with a move to Fratton Park is Ghana international Stephen Appiah.
The commanding midfielder recently terminated his contract at Turkish side Fenerbahce, with his agent claiming there is interest from Pompey.
"I received a concrete offer from Racing Santander and Portsmouth are calling us practically every day," said Luca Pagani.
However, Appiah's former club, Juventus, remain the favourites to resign him.
