Ligue 2 outfit Lens want to hand Darnel Situ a professional contract in order to keep the French starlet out of the hands of Manchester United.
The Red Devils believed to have already been in contact with their French counterparts regarding Situ.
The 16-year-old is currently captain of the French U17 side and continues to impress scouts across the globe.
However, with Lens having nurtured the youngster through their academy system they are understandably keen to tie him down to a professional contract in his homeland.
"There has to be gratitude shown for all the hard work we have put into his education," Lens technical director Daniel Leclercq told France Football.
"The players must be aware that they can't take advantage of our facilities and coaching.
"Darnel will resume with the youth team at Lens. We are even in talks to see him pledge his long-term future here."

"The rule on getting kids to come to a prem club, is they must live within a hours travel or thirty miles. United being in the north west have to compete with all the other north west clubs. How can such a small catchment area provide enough talent for all the north west clubs! No wonder they look abroad, they have no choice. This rule was brought in by that genius Howard wilkinson specifically to stop utd attracting top youngsters after seeing fergies babes come through and dominate"

united & every other prem club cant do this due to the stupid rule of only being able to get players 60miles or so from where the club is based. I think until this rule is scrapped then clubs like united will continue to get alot of foreign youngsters & this number wont reduce until the idiotic FA lift the rule. I mean does this not say it all, we cant get player over 60miles from manchester but we can get a youngster from france or spain!"

"As much as I would love to see all the best young players from Europe come to Old Trafford, I feel for the teams that nurture them through. It's just not fair. We should really be combing our own country for the best young British talent."
