Clint Dempsey has hinted he could be forced to leave Fulham after admitting his frustration at a lack of first-team opportunities.

Dempsey is frustrated with his current lack of action after dropping down the pecking order under Roy Hodgson.

The 25-year-old has found first-team chances hard to come by following the summer arrival of Zoltan Gera.

The American international has only started one game this season - the Carling Cup defeat to Burnley - and he admits he is struggling to make an impact under Hodgson.

"The coach here now is not the one who brought me in so it's difficult proving that I deserve to be on the field," Dempsey is quoted as saying in the News of the World.

"Dempsey is a great player. I am not saying this because I am an american, but because I know he has tremendous potential and it is unfair that he is not getting playing time. He is full of passion and he will only get better if he gets more playing time. Dempsey dont go back to the MLS please"
