I can stop Tottenham rot - Ramos

Juande Ramos admits 'any decision' on his future as Spurs boss is out of his hands - but is confident he can stop the rot at Tottenham.

Ramos: Under serious pressure

Ramos saw his side slump to their third home defeat of the season against Hull on Sunday, and now you must go back to 1912, the year the Titanic sank, to find a worse Tottenham start to a season.

But the Tottenham chief, who could cost Tottenham £20million in compensation if he was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy, insisted: "This is my job. I am the same whether we win or lose.

"Any decision on my future is not up to me but I am determined to put it right. It is my job, my work.

"The main problem for us is scoring goals. You have to score to win games and we are finding that difficult.

"But if we continue to play similar to how we did against Hull we can change the situation."

Spurs' last home league win came against Portsmouth in March and they have triumphed in just three league games since claiming the Carling Cup last season.

Ramos, however, said: "The effort was there and the players did their job very well.

"Their attitude was positive and when I speak to them they say they want to finish this situation quickly."

Ramos will discover on Monday the extent of his striker problems when Roman Pavlyuchenko undergoes a scan on the ankle which saw him limp off in the first half to be replaced by Darren Bent.

For Hull, however, they are coming to terms with life at the heady heights near the summit of the Premier League after their second win in the capital in eight days, following their victory against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

It left boss Phil Brown admitting: "We're ahead of schedule and in dreamland at the moment but we know we will have lows as well.

"I still see Tottenham as a top-six team but they have got to start winning soon.

"My hardest job after last week was to keep their feet firmly on the ground and make sure that they weren't over-confident.

"We defended manfully again and kept the work-rate high. I love 1-0 wins. As a defensive coach it is fantastic to see.

"You can see there is a spirit, there is a camaraderie that doesn't want to get beaten."

"painful!

JR "The main problem for us is scoring goals. You have to score to win games and we are finding that difficult"

shame then our 4th place striker from last year is now our 1st!

What is the point anyway, we will never be competitve with big 4 because we are a feeder club for them, Berba, Keane, Carrick. We will never build a team because we cant keep our main players.

The newcastle fan can keep it shut...shows how bad you are the fact we beat you!"

"we could`nt be a goal now. Anyone for fat ronaldo on a free? i say give him five more games if no improvement ship him out. Or fix his breaks on his car that way we get the insurance. If he has`nt influenced this team which is ok to put in one good performance (ie three points) its not going to happen. They have'nt played with any form since league cup final."

"violentk....i will bet against it...actually..with all of my money!!!"

"Is this still part of the plan for breaking into the top 4? It's a bit complicated."

"We CAN'T sack Ramos, that would absoute madness! Seriously, this is why Spurs are so crap and inconsitent - because we don't give managers enough time. Ramos is a fantastic coach and hasn't become crap overnight. The problem is that the board sold all his decent strikers and then over spent on a number of distinctly average midfielders. We've got no service and no one to finish anytime we do manage to get the ball in the box. It's depressingly mad, but there isn't a management team around who are better to cope with it than Ramos and Poyet.Seriously guys, stop calling for the guy to be sacked - that's what we always do and that's why we're this position. Even if we finish 4th bottom, keep Ramos. Keep him! Mind you, if we're bottom come Christmas, I may start to reconsider......"

"Good - Ramos will turn it round - i was at the game yesterday, our only problem is up front, and for that the fans have to look at the board for not replacing keane and berbatov, we played some good stuff and needed a bit of luck - but we'll turn it round - sacking the manager wont solve anything COYS!!"

"Ramos should resign but he won't cause he would lose £15 million pounds. I don't blame him one bit, he is probably laughing everytime his pay cheque comes in. He is getting £5 million a year to run us into the ground. What excally is he getting paid £5 million for.? If the players picked the team and tactics themselfs we wouldn't have been any worst off. I am disappointed that we are giving Levvy such an easy time of it. Last point, can anyone tell me what Comoli has to do to get sacked.?"

"Phil Brown said Spurs is a top six side, he will find himself crucified by the spurs fans for uttering such rubbish and degrading them. Everyone knows spurs is capable of top 4, it's only 7 games played, seriously do u dare to bet against it??? "
