Trio join race to sign £4m Jimmy

Middlesbrough, Sunderland and West Ham are reportedly ready to join long-term admirers Everton and Bolton in the race to sign Jimmy Bullard.

The Fulham midfielder is happy at Craven Cottage, but boss Roy Hodgson reportedly does not fancy him and refuses to discuss a new deal with the fans' favourite.

Bullard, 29, and Danny Murphy are struggling alongside each other in central midfield and Hodgson will listen to offers of around £4million for Bullard when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports in the News of the World.

He is desperate to add some bite to his strugglers and will spend what cash he gets for Bullard on a midfield enforcer.

The Hammers, however, would need to offload players to finance a deal for Bullard, with manager Gianfranco Zola told he must sell before he can buy at Upton Park.
