Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso admits he would be tempted by a move to Juventus even though the Italian club turned him down in the summer.
The Spain international came close to joining to the Turin giants during the transfer window but ended up staying in the English Premier League.
"To be honest, for my part, the attraction (to Juventus) has remained intact," said Alonso in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
Juve instead signed Christian Poulsen from Sevilla, with Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri revealing last week he believed Alonso was simply too slow to play in the Bianconeri midfield.
The 26-year-old, who helped Spain win Euro 2008, was not too disheartened by Juve's decision though.
"One thing I can say is that I personally appreciated the honesty of the club executives," said Alonso.
"They told me their tactics on the pitch were different and that is why they chose Poulsen and not me.
"These are things that happen in football and it's fine. I could have gone but I didn't because, in the end, they chose someone else.
"Juventus are Juventus, the most prestigious club in Italy, but you cannot be disappointed when you play for Liverpool."

"Rafa made a big mistake by talking to Juve in the hope of getting money for an average Barry. i just hope Alonso is only saying this to pressure Rafa into playing him regularly this season. We need Xabi!!!"

"I think the decision has to be left with the Xabi. Do you want to stay with us or go? I for one would like him to stay."

"well,ben23,at first it was not Alonso who wants to move from Anfield.it was Rafa who wants to sell him to get funds to buy Barry which didn't materialise after all.so,with all the things happening around him,I think at one point he himself oso doesn't know if he's going or staying coz with him playing for his country in Euro,Rafa already started to make plans for the new season without him in the team. Then when Barry's transfer gone dead in the water,Rafa decides to keep Alonso after all so if you happens to be in his shoes, how will u feel when u r being treated like that?Don't need to go far, just ask the quite bewildered and surprised Finnan of his sudden and abrupt transfer to Espanyol, how does he feel?YNWA"

"If he is carrying a torch for Juventus then Liverpool should sell him. Liverpool dont need players like that at the club. I cant stand it when players give hints that he wants to leave. its quite clear what Xabi would do if he had a choice between Liverpool & Juventus."

"after how alonso was treated this summer, liverpool will be very lucky if he decides to stay with them.
i was surprised the toffees didn't try to link him up with arteta.
i wtill wouldn't be surprised tho if he was to move to arsenal either in janurary or next summer"

"any footballer should take a leaf out of xabi's book. his professionalism is incredible. both whilst with sociedad and now with us. never complained, just got on with it. never gave interviews to the papers, never moaned about being a makeweight, never complained to rafa (maybe indoors). well done xabi. i laud your attitude. wish you stay with us forever."

"You'll end up winning the title with us, and not leaving for the next 10 years."
