Cesc reaffirms Arsenal loyalty

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has once again stressed his commitment to the club, after admitting he recently said he admired AC Milan.

Fabregas: Committed to Arsenal

The 21-year-old Spaniard was given the armband by manager Arsene Wenger following William Gallas' controversial outburst and has enjoyed successive victories in his first two games in charge - the last at Premier League title rivals Chelsea on Sunday.

The Euro 2008 winner is always at the centre of transfer rumours - the latest sparked by comments he made to an Italian newspaper concerning AC Milan.

However, the Gunners skipper - who is contracted at the Emirates Stadium until 2014 - maintains he has no intentions of taking his skills anywhere else in the immediate future.

"It is true that I said I admire Milan for their rich history and the way they play football - but that is as far as the story goes," Fabregas said in a statement to the club's official website.

"I am honoured to be wearing the captain's armband for Arsenal and I am 100% committed to this club. My future is here."

"I admire AC Milan for their history. I admire Barcelona, the skills in this team is terrific. Manchester United play good football. I am not going to support any of them though. Same thing goes for Cesc when it comes to playing for another club - HOPEFULLY! :-) PS: We need a creative winger!! Silva - Di Maria? - Messi (like he is for sale).... someone in that mould. And Di Rossi. Get us Di Rossi :)"

"people sure are making a fuss...Cesc said he admired Milan not want to join Milan...duh...well I won't expect anything more from the press...it is thier job to create stories that don't exist"

"Cesc would be off to one of the big european clubs if they came knocking.....but then lets be realistic, who wouldn't, there is no loyalty these days, money talks. "

"mcgroin86 (Stockport County fan) ---- Why would Cesc leave Arsenal for those teams???? We have just as much of a chance of winning the league as Madrid, Barca, Inter or Milan. Milan isn't even in the champions league, Madrid is collapsing and Inter is saturated with Mourinho's dull football. Barca is loaded with midfielders. As a Stockport County fan you should start thinking about your own non existent team. I bet the Arsenal Ladies might spank your team. "

"No way Cesc, don't even try to deny it. If Milan, Inter, Barca or Real came knocking with a big bid, you'd be a distant spec in the horizon mate..."

"We are always hearing about giving chances to emerging talent! misfiring Bendtner in the first team and Sylvester come carling cup yep! the 2 worst first teamers still being used to block progress of homegrown talent!!??"

Threadonaspool (Liverpool fan)

"I love this... players always come out and say theyre future is at the club right before they walk out the door! Good bye Cesc. "

"Yep, this man is going nowhere... the press should really stop fishing on this one... its getting really boring... also i think players shouldnt do any media work at all... they should only speak to their of TV network..."
