Agent cagey over Tevez's Utd future

Carlos Tevez's Manchester United future is again in doubt after his agent refused to confirm whether he would be at the club next season.

Tevez: Has not rejected a deal offer
Tevez: Has not rejected a deal offer

Tevez, 24, this week vehemently denied claims he had rejected a contract offer from the Red Devils, insisting he has had no discussions about making permanent the loan deal which expires in the summer.

Speculation the Argentina international will leave at the end of the season has been rife, with Real Madrid understood to be closely monitoring the situation.

Kia Joorabchian defended his client's comments, saying the forward has not created any problems at the club or with Sir Alex Ferguson, but was vague when asked if Tevez would be at Old Trafford past the end of this campaign.

"It's very hard to predict," Joorabchian told BBC Radio Five Live Sport. "It's football. Things change by the minute, by the hour. It's not a no. You never know.

"All Carlos said in the interview was that it was not true, he has not rejected an offer from Manchester United, he has not made crazy demands.

"He just wanted the fans and the people to know that we haven't had any contract talks.

"That's the bottom line. He wanted to say 'How could I reject something if I've never spoken about it'?

"Carlos has never made an issue or a problem. He doesn't have a problem at all with Sir Alex. He's never had a fight with Sir Alex or any arguments.

"All of these things are being created around a simple story that Carlos wanted to put straight."

Joorabchian denied any contact had been made with other clubs, stressing that Tevez is focusing on his duties with United.

"I think we've made it very clear until now that we've always said he's a Man United player and if anybody wants to buy Carlos or talk about Carlos they must talk to Man United," he continued.

"We're not in the process of people trying to contact us etc etc. We've never entertained any conversations or chats with (other clubs) about him.

"The fact is that he's got six months left on his contract and he's happy to see that through and as he said he wants to win the title again, the Champions League again. He wants to win an FA Cup and now even the Carling Cup so he's very up for trying to get as many trophies as he can."

Joorabchian added: "He's saying 'I'm happy to continue doing what I do best. If I get a new contract and everything works out, fantastic. If it doesn't, I'll go to another club'."

"dannnnnnnnnnm it look like we loss tavez"

CPSPOSSE (Liverpool fan)

"oh look im on the united board hey how nice would it be if like my mate clarkeeee (Manchester United fan) gave my useless biased opinion about another club. I think getting rid of the guy who scores all your last minute tap in's is a big mistake and you'll pay the price. anyone else though think he looks like one of those troll dolls with the hair though? no wonder he scores the tap in's unmarked because people are scared. seriously just look at the picture! honestly put down your can of larger, take your burberry hat off and just look at the picture!"

Roy the Boy (Manchester United fan)

"If tevez stays he stays if he goes he goes. Either way Utd will move on. Its hard to know who to believe, has been offered a deal and is he holding out for more money or are utd stalling. Tevez has not played well this season, he has had a good few personal problems but Fergie has been good to him in this regard, letting him travel home. I think he is a terrific player but if he doesn't sign we can give Frazier campbell achance or sign someone else. And if Fergie really wants him hell get him."

Starsky (Manchester United fan)

"I think we sign him for another 2 years on loan since we simply cant afford to pay the £32Million Joorabchian wants at this stage of the season. Lets hope we can come to some sort of agreement for Tevez to stay at OT. Berbatov needs to be kept on his toes so he doesnt start to slack down and be lazy cos if he does, he knows Tevez wont be there to replace him!! Come on Tevez, show the world what u can do tonight by smashing a hat-trick against Derby County!!!!"

clarkeeee (Manchester United fan)

"I really don't see the point in keeping both Rooney and Tevez. In fact I really don't see the point in having 3 support strikers (Rooney, Tevez and Berba). We surely would be better letting one go and it just so happens Tevez is the one we don't own. Spend the money on an out and out fox in the box striker ala Villa or Benzema, someone who's going to score at least 20 a season. I don't think it's a coincidence that we are struggling to score goals this season."

"RaphaelPeditez, Liverpool fan : I agreed SAF has a big ego. He still delivers results even though he lost quite a number of good players over the years. I do hope SAF would keep Tevez...GGMU!"

roychoong (Manchester United fan)

"Please dont sell him..."

kdelay (West Ham United fan)

"Of course his agent can't confirm it!!! HE IS ON LOAN TILL THE END OF THE SEASON AND NO CONTRACT HAS BEEN DRAWN UP. Does everyone forget what they have already been told??? What tosh. "

ObedWBC (Manchester United fan)

"Tevez will remain at Old Trafford as long as SAF wants him. I dont think he is the problem or has caused any problem. SAF has created the situation with his somewhat arrogant but brave attitude of being the boss all the time.

Well, we hope Carlos is not lost like we lost Nistelrooy. There are times when Fergie should just have to swallow his pride!"
