Following a goalless draw at Fratton Park, Gary Johnson's men are relishing another chance.

After City's Championship postponement at Doncaster on Saturday, Skuse reports the Robins are ready to get back in action.

"Portsmouth had their game cancelled as well, so we can't be using that as an excuse," he said.

"Obviously it's nice to have a rest, recharge our batteries - and we hope we can come out flying.

"The games we've had in the last few years - Middlesbrough, and Everton a few years before that - have been great games. We hope we can come out on top this time."

City knocked Liverpool out in 1994, courtesy of a goal from Brian Tinnion.

Skuse told his club's official website: "I was there; I was at Anfield that night.

"I can remember that (game) very clearly, but it's been a long time and it's time we gave our fans something to cheer about in the FA Cup.

"It was a great finish by Tin, a great night. I didn't realise it was 15 years (ago) - it's gone by so quick - the fans are due one, I think."

The 22-year-old is fully aware of the threat posed by a Barclays Premier League side, filled with quality players.

He said: "Obviously they've got a few big names, not just in midfield but all around the side.

"Glen Johnson just signed a new contract; you've got (Peter) Crouch, David James - wherever you look they have got big names.

"But you've got to try and put that to one side when the game's going on and try not let that affect you.

"It is [difficult]. You watch them when they're on international duty for their country; you tune in to watch it.

"When you're stood next to them in the tunnel it's a little bit different, but it's nice to be playing against those kind of players.

"But why can't we be that one day? Why can't we be that other side?"

It will undoubtedly be a huge test for the Robins, but Skuse is hoping his side can cement their place in the history books.

He added: "Every Bristol City fan remembers that night up at Anfield, so we can set our own bit of history against Portsmouth - which fans will remember in years to come.

"At Fratton Park they sang all the way through, so we could do with that again."
