Caicedo waiting for City decision

Felipe Caicedo wants to know whether he is in Mark Hughes' plans at Manchester City after being linked with West Ham and Sporting Lisbon.

City have already signed Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn this summer and they are also chasing Carlos Tevez and Barcelona ace Samuel Eto'o.

That could lead to departures from City, and Caicedo has been attracting interest from Premier League rivals West Ham and Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

The Ecuador international is eager to play more regularly during the coming campaign after scoring four times in 17 league appearances last term.

He appears open to a move to Sporting, but wants an answer from Hughes about his prospects of regularly involvement with City.

"City have still not said anything to me about my future, but I have not changed my decision," Caicedo told Record.

"I want to play more minutes and the challenge of the Champions League would be excellent for me.

"Sporting Lisbon would be a good alternative for if I am not in the plans of Hughes for next season.

"I can say that Sporting have contacted my agents, but now it is necessary to have a clear choice about me."

"city should not let this lad leave unless its a loan deal only. he has potential and is only 20yrs old. stars are arriving at man city, but it would be good for them in the long run if they could nurture some talent too."

"Shows some promise - Loan to Lisbon or West Ham for 12 months would make sense"
