Keith Lamb is delighted Middlesbrough have appointed Gordon Strachan as manager - and "doubts there'll be many dull days" during his tenure.
The new Boro boss, who will be unveiled on Monday afternoon, replaces Gareth Southgate as gaffer at The Riverside, and inherits a team that are only three points off the top of the Championship table.
Strachan's first game in charge will be against Plymouth on Saturday, and Boro chief executive Lamb is predicting a long and successful era with the Scot at the helm.
"We're delighted that Gordon has agreed to join us as our new manager," he told the club's official website.
"Gordon has a wealth of experience as a player and as a manager. The experience will be of great help to the club, particularly to our younger players.
"For a club like ours, with a wealth of talented young footballers, whose careers are ahead of them, Gordon will be invaluable in ensuring they get every last ounce out of their potential.
"That can only be a good thing for the players themselves and Middlesbrough Football Club."
Strachan has previous management experience with Coventry City, Southampton and Celtic, and Lamb is expecting him to provide entertaining times on Teesside.
"He is a character and I think everybody, from the chairman down over, will enjoy working with him," he added.
"Certainly I doubt there'll be many dull days at the football club."

"Still cannot believe how Southgate was sacked - stunning."

"It's inevitable that the easy league will get brough up by the unknowledgable ones, however Strachan got Celtic to the last 16 of the Champions League 2 years in a row - that's no mean feat. He will be a true character at Boro, but don't expect a straight answer.
Who will win the most competitive league in the world this year, Man U or Chelsea? It's hardly ever anyone else.............."

"ZEROZERO I wouldnt say Mclaren was bad for Boro, he won us the league cup, took us to a UEFA cup final and 7th place finish, to be honest things were looking up with him at the helm and I along with many Boro fans were predicting we would be challenging for UEFA cup spots more often....Then Southgate took over."

"First decent Manager Boro have appointed...er...since ever. Robson, Southgate, McClaren - pure mediocrity..."

"Poor choice for boro i think, not a very good manager at all. People can point to his celtic record but as long as you see off rangers in the scottish league then you have won it."
