Chan linked with Tottenham trial

Hong Kong international striker Chan Siu-ki is said to be heading to Spurs for a trial period next month, according to reports in the Far East.

Chan, who scored against the White Hart Lane outfit in a pre-season encounter, is expected to travel to north London for a 10-day stint in December.

Hong Kong champions South China and Tottenham agreed a club partnership earlier this week which will see an exchange programme put into place, while coaching methods will also be shared.

Now South China forward Chan is believed to be one of the first players on course to benefit from the fledgling scheme.

Chan, who has scored 22 goals in 27 appearances for his club, found the net with a long-range effort against Harry Redknapp's side when the two teams met in early August in the Hong Kong National Stadium.

Tottenham executive director Paul Barber believes the partnership with South China will help the growth and development of both clubs.

He told the club's official website: "Tottenham Hotspur already has an established following in Hong Kong and given the history and success of South China they are a welcome partner.

"The agreement with South China is an exciting opportunity for the club to grow in a key commercial market."

"Chan Siu-Ki is really one of the best striker in Asia. He is one of the most dangerous striker in Asia. He can caught every opportunity to score. When most of people focus on Japanese and Korean, I believed that Chan Siu-ki is a great surprise for European clubs who is come from the region other than Japan and Korea. (^.^)
