Hart hopeful of keeping star O'Hara

Paul Hart has praised Jamie O'Hara for settling in so quickly at Portsmouth and hopes he will be able to keep the Tottenham midfielder.

The 23-year-old has impressed Hart with his attitude and ability since moving to Fratton Park on loan during the summer.

He is scheduled to return to parent club Spurs in the New Year but has already expressed a desire to extend his stay until the end of the season.

Hart is also hopeful that something can be arranged, although it is unclear at this stage how much business can be done in the transfer window following Ali Al Faraj's takeover.

Securing O'Hara on a longer contract would be a priority for Hart as he has performed admirably in 'difficult circumstances'.

"Jamie - like most of the players we signed in August - has fitted in brilliantly," Hart told The News. "I think he enjoys it here and I think he'd like to stay.

"Him saying he doesn't want to walk away sums up his attitude, but every player we've got is determined to get this right in very difficult circumstances.

"That is the sort of attitude we need.

"I've gone on record saying we'd like to keep him and that hasn't changed and Jamie has said he'd like to stay."

"Brownsville (Arsenal fan) - He wasnt signed from Arsenal for any form of fee he left the Arsenal youth academy to come to spurs and had never signed a pro contract with Arsenal so there wont be any % of the fee going to Arsenal"

"give em hudd and jenas and take KPB and Jamie back "

"I'm sure Arsenal are due a percentage of his fee, just like we was for Skoda."

"Sadly I think we will lose this boy to Pompey on a perm transfer, lets face it Harry clearly rates him but doesnt know where to play him which means his oppurtunites will be limited. "

KingLedley26 (Tottenham Hotspur fan)

"In a way, it will probably benefit him, Pomey and Spurs if he stays until the end of the season, as long as its only to the end of the season and not beyond that. Playing every week is doing him good and will be a better player when he returns to Spurs"

"Nooooo! Give 'em Jenas instead!"

"would prefer to keep this as a "loan" agreement unless they're willing to pay big bucks. I think he could have a promising future."
