Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the current Manchester United squad as the best of his tenure - but doubts they can win five trophies this season.
United have already won the FIFA Club World Cup and Carling Cup, are four points clear at the top of the Premier League and still in contention in the FA Cup and Champions League.
Ferguson told the New Statesman: "The thing about cup football is you need to be the best but you also need a lot of luck and I think it's asking too much for all the games to go your way.
"The one thing I will say is, this squad is the best I have ever had. Every game we play, I feel confident.
"At the moment, every attack fears our defence and every defence fears our midfield and attack. That gives you confidence but it's too tough a call."

"Unless a team has a squad of 22 world class players, they will never win all 5 trophies. Do you consider players like Evans, Fletcher & Nani world class? I don't think so. They are not up to that standard yet. Even though they may be playing for their countries."

"Clarkeee you have a point but so does he, i would be very interested to see the number of United fans that has mysteriously appeared in the last decade since they have been winning, something very similar to the number of Liverpool fans that appeared out of air in the 80's, our super clubs have truley killed the competition of football. Unfortunetly all we can do is suport our club and live on with it. The fact that Man U is in all three major cups is just awesome though. SAF consistancy is something to admire (something i wish our brilliant but crazy manager needs to pick up)"

"Fergie trying desperately to deflect the pressure from his team whilst also building them up in the wake of last weekends defeat. Very clever management with more than a touch of the Mourinho's about it!"

"Good grief Chris Huggett that's a bit of a weak old hackneyed one.Why and to what is it relevant? So just for fun let's ask some questions and then examine the facts:
¿ how many of Chelsea's fans are from Fulham?
¿ why is Chelsea's ground in Fulham and not in Chelsea?
¿ why is Chelsea's training ground in Cobham, Surrey - a pretty long journey from Stamford Bridge by anyone's standards¿
¿ how many of Chelsea's fans live in Surrey? (Possibly as many as United fans!)
¿ Why was Abramovich's stated intention to become the number one football brand in the world by 2014? (not doing so well so far, eh?)
¿ How were they going to ever hope to achieve that with "local" football fans?
¿ (Come to think of it, how were they ever going to achieve it all in any case?)
¿ Why did they poach the mercenary turncoat Kenyon to vainly attempt to achieve that?
¿ How many local boys play for Chelsea? What is Chelsea's youth policy?
¿ What is the capacity of Stamford Bridge? (Rhetorical question: it's 42,500)
¿ What is the capacity of Old Trafford? (Rhetorical question: it's 76,212)
¿ Now why is it that a club in the north of England has almost double the capacity? Surely not that more people find United's style of football more appealing? And are prepared to even go all the way around the M25 and head North?
¿ And why might that be? Not just because OT's seat prices are far cheaper than Chelsea's surely.
You just don't get it do you? But as our friends across the pond say: go figure¿
Now what was the question? ;-)
(btw, in case you ask, I was born and bred in Manchester, but now living in Surrey!)
:-)"

Does it even matter where a fan is really from? Seems like people all over the world have to start moving homes just to support a club... people support a club because its style of football appeals to them... if your team doesnt play THAT kind of entertaining football... hard luck... and if u have to support ur THAT team just because u are from that area.. den hard luck to you as well...
