Villa drops Valencia exit hint

Chelsea and Tottenham target David Villa has admitted he would consider leaving Valencia, if the Primera Liga side agreed to sell him.

The Spaniard has become one of the most-wanted strikers in Europe following his goalscoring exploits at Euro 2008 and the Blues and Spurs have joined Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race to sign him this summer.

And with Valencia rumoured to be keen to raise funds to rebuild their squad following a disappointing 2007/08 campaign, it could be possible that the Mestalla board would be willing to listen to offers.

Villa, who is valued at around £25million, has previously insisted that he does not have a desire to leave Valencia, however he has now suggested he could ponder his options after Euro 2008, if the club wanted to sell.

"In the event that Valencia told me they were going to sell me then I would address my options," Villa said in the Sunday Mirror.

"It's not an issue between the clubs. It's not something I'm thinking about.

"My focus is on this tournament (Euro 2008) and making sure Spain do well. This is not the time to be thinking about my personal future."

Meanwhile, Villa has admitted that he is thriving on the pressure of providing the goals for Spain and he has warned the rest of Europe that he can only improve.

"There is always pressure," added Villa. "It comes with football.

"Besides pressure is something I thrive on. It keeps me on my toes. I don't need motivation to play well. I'm motivated enough.

"I want to improve and become a better player. I'm far from the finished article."

"I have no problem with West ham, but to anyone like tton_matt I have one question.....on what POSSIBLE criteria can you say they are a bigger club than Tottenham? trophies? No. Consistent league record? Well we haven't been relegated in 30 years. European competition? fourth UEFA cup in 10 years this term. Finances? Joe Lewis rode the collapse of Bear Stearns bank without breaking a sweat. Players choosing them over us? Hell no. Fan Base? Emphatically no....oh, wait, that covers Newcastle as well ;-)"

"Don't rise to these other fans; they're only jealous because their clubs don't have the ambition let alone ability to sign players like this. We might not get him but if you aim high....."
