The Cameroon international had been playing for Qatar Sports Club, but has now opted to try his luck in Denmark.

Djemba-Djemba once cost Manchester United £3.5million, although he failed to prove himself in England despite spells with Aston Villa and Burnley.

The 27-year-old is now hoping a fresh challenge will help bring out the sort of form Sir Alex Ferguson hoped he had signed in 2003.

"I'm really happy to have joined the Danish side," he told skysports.com. "It's a new challenge and hopefully I will rediscover myself.

"My experience in the Premier League was fantastic. It should have been a success, however, I will come back.

"Any player signed by Sir Alex Ferguson is a good player. I will work hard for my new team and try and win silverware in Denmark and Europe."

"A shame for the lad! Came with such massive hype. "The new Roy Keane". Such pressure will have affected his overall game. Saying that, he never really looked like united quality! Good luck to him!"
