Carlisle boss John Ward saluted a professional performance as his side recorded a 4-0 win over Northern Premier League side Kendal on Saturday.
Two goals from Scott Dobie and solo efforts from Danny Carlton and Luke Joyce were enough to see off the non-leaguers and secure a confidence-boosting pre-season win.
Ward told the club's official website: "It was a good experience and it was good for the players to get some competitive football.
"I'm really pleased with the way they have gone about things - I've got a very determined squad, they get on extremely well with each other, but they all want to start for us in August.
