Carlisle are not planning on bringing in a replacement for David Raven despite receiving news he will be sidelined until March at the earliest.
Raven has been out of action for a month with a hip injury and is set to go under the surgeon's knife, with Richard Keogh set to stand in again against Chesterfield in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy quarter-final tie on Tuesday (7:30pm).
"We are okay with that at the minute," said boss Greg Abbott. "We are happy with the way Richard is performing - he has been very good.
"We've also got Tony Kane available and another player who has played at right-back at a higher level. At the moment we haven't noticed David's absence too much because Richard has come in and done very well."
Carlisle will also still be without captain Paul Thirlwell, who has a long-standing Achilles injury, while on-loan Chelsea midfielder Tom Taiwo faces a race to be fit after limping off 15 minutes from time with a shin injury at the weekend.
