The Ashton-Under-Lyne born midfielder's current contract runs out next summer and as of yet the Italian giants have yet to offer an extension.

Part of the delay could be down to the insecure future of the club with current president Rosella Sensi having to deny that she is set to sell her stake in the Giallorossi.

Supporters are said to favour a buy-out after the team finished a disappointing sixth last season in Serie A.

"Simone has just surpassed 32-years and it was highly expected that a contract renewal would be put forward," Bozzo told Romanews.

"Unfortunately, all the contracts that are set to expire in 2010 are sill being left unresolved."

The World Cup winner played 28 times for Roma last term and despite Bozzo hinting that they would welcome any interest over the summer in the not to distant past the agent states that the player's heart is in the Italian capital.

"Simone wants nothing else but to stay with Roma," he added.

"Whether that be until the end of his current deal or further down the line, I don't know, but either way his heart is Giallorosso."
