Brighton and Hove Albion are still in talks with Leeds United over extending midfielder Ian Westlake's loan spell at the Withdean Stadium.
Westlake's current deal runs out after Brighton's clash with Port Vale on April 5, and the Seagulls are eager to tie him up for the rest of the season.
"Ian has done very well for us since coming on loan and obviously we are keen to extend his stay," said Brighton chairman Dick Knight.
"We are not under any pressure to conclude negotiations with Leeds ahead of the loan deadline, as the player is already here at Brighton.
"We have up until the Port Vale game to extend Ian's loan spell and I think it's distinctly possible we can achieve that."
Westlake is ineligible to face Leeds when Brighton travel to Elland Road on Saturday.
