Gillingham v Peterboro preview

Steven Gregory is available for Gillingham’s home clash against promotion-chasing Peterborough.

The midfielder has been missing of late with a thigh injury but stepped up his training this week and could be involved against Posh.

Gregory’s return to contention comes after fit-again Amine Linganzi was named on the bench for last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Notts County, with the Frenchman also pushing for match action.

Striker Craig Fagan is not yet ready to return from his hamstring problem but Charlie Lee has recovered from a similar complaint and is fit.

Peterborough, meanwhile, will be without the suspended Danny Swanson against Gillingham but Gabi Zakuani and Joe Newell will come back into the reckoning for the trip to Kent.

Swanson will serve a one-match ban on Saturday after he received his fifth yellow card of the season during the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory over Newport in midweek.

Fellow midfielder Newell is fit again after missing the semi-final tie at Rodney Parade with a thigh injury while defender Zakuani will return to the squad after an Achilles problem.

Captain Tommy Rowe (knee), midfielder Danny Kearns (hip) and defender Craig Alcock (calf) remain on the sidelines as Posh look to record back-to-back league wins for the first time in two months.
