Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson has said his side will be properly prepared for their first-round Capital One Cup clash at Preston.
The tie will be played during the week commencing August 13, with Grayson's newly-promoted side launching the 2012/13 season in the npower Championship on August 18.
Grayson told the club's official website: "It's going to be strange to have a cup game before the league season starts, but we've known that will be the case for some time now.
"Obviously we would have preferred a home draw, but the Preston tie is one to look forward to. We saw last season that Preston are a tough opponent. They have a certain way of playing and they will have a new-look squad for the new season, but we will be ready for the game.
"My approach to cup games is just the same as the league. Ever since I arrived at the club we needed to keep winning and I've always sent a team out that is capable and set up to win each and every game, so it will be just the same at Deepdale."
