Rochdale assistant manager Jimmy Bell says there are no targets at Rochdale beyond League One survival this season.

Bell and boss John Coleman left League Two Accrington to fill the vacancy left by Steve Eyre at Spotland last month and masterminded an impressive 3-0 derby victory over Bury in their first game in charge.

However, Bell insists such promise will count for little if Dale remain in the bottom four when the season concludes in May.

"In a word, no. Our main aim is to keep the club in League One," said Bell when asked about long-term goals.

"We want to manage as high as we can, that was why we came here.

"It's a big test for us. We don't want to be going back to League Two so we will give absolutely 100 percent to keep this club where it is and then we'll take it from there and address it from there."
