Karl Robinson claims having good form in the play-offs is not essential, as long as the MK Dons finish a place higher than last season.

The Milton Keynes club leapfrogged Huddersfield and moved into fourth place in the table with a 3-0 victory at Scunthorpe last weekend.

A fourth-place finish would see the vital play-off second leg played at stadium:mk, with the most likely opponents being the Terriers.

Robinson said: "It's not about going into the play-offs in form, it's almost like an FA Cup or a derby clash. I think it's more about the players getting fitter and we seem to be getting fitter at a good stage of the season.

"We want to finish one place higher than last season in fourth and we're going to go out all guns blazing.

"Our target was to overtake Huddersfield, they're a very good team and we know how difficult it is to play them both home and away. But it's a bonus for us."
