Loyal Bournemouth striker Steve Fletcher insists that he is willing to re-enter the coaching side of the game to remain at the club.
The 39-year-old has one year left on his playing contract at Dean Court, with new Cherries manager Paul Groves keen to utilise his vast experience next season.
Fletcher, who has been associated with the South Coast outfit since 1992, resigned from the role of assistant manager in November to concentrate on his playing duties.
However, he told Sky Sports that he would like to remain at the club beyond his playing career, with a variety of avenues a possibility.
"When I stepped down from the position in November, I said that I've still got aspirations of going into coaching once my playing days are over and that remains the case," he said.
"It has to be the right time, with the right opportunity, and it was another thing I discussed with the chairman over the summer because I'll be 40 in July.
"We went through a few ideas about where I might be heading at the football club in the next few years, whether it is still playing for another year, helping out on the commercial side of things or going back into a coaching role.
"Coaching is something I'd like to do again because I loved every minute of it and it certainly whetted my appetite for more, but it has to be the right thing for both parties.
"The club is building and going forward, with a bit of money behind us after the Russian investment and it'd be nice to be a part of that. One thing I haven't done whilst at Bournemouth is help them get into the Championship.
"That is my one dream left to achieve, but I don't know how feasible that will be because I don't know how long I've got in terms of playing the game.
"If not, then I'd love to be part of the setup when we do get into the Championship because I believe that is where we are heading."
