Crewe boss Steve Davis says any transfer for former Northampton midfielder Abdul Osman is dependent on finances.
Osman wants to move to the League One newcomers, but the club and player's advisors need to compromise.
Davis told the club's official website: "It will come down to finances with Abdul. We knew that and it will come down to the figures.
"He wants to stay in this country and he wants to come to Crewe. I think he has enjoyed his time here and if our offer isn't good enough then we will move on and Abdul will move on."
