Bury remain winless in League One after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Notts County at Gigg Lane on Saturday.

County went ahead through Lee Hughes after 76 seconds and hung onto that lead until Alan Judge added another goal in the final minute. Hughes reeled away in celebration after the very slightest of touches to divert Judge's free-kick past Trevor Carson.

As County looked to protect their lead, Bury pressed forward and Lenell John-Lewis pulled a 20-yard effort narrowly wide.

Judge wasted a good opportunity for the Magpies before visiting goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski was called into action to tip away David Worrall's header from a Joe Skarz cross. Skarz continued to provide decent service after the break but Lateef Elford-Alliyu headed straight at the keeper from a neat delivery.

Despite Bury's pressure, Carson was called into action twice in quick succession, tipping away a deflected Judge effort and blocking a powerful drive from Alan Sheehan.

Notts sealed victory when Judge collected a throughball from Andre Boucaud to punish Bury on the break.
