Kadeem Harris and Will Grigg are added to the Bees squad for the visit of the U’s.

Winger Harris has joined on loan from Cardiff and striker Grigg missed last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Stevenage as he was on international duty with Northern Ireland.

Boss Uwe Rosler has no injury worries but plenty of selection dilemmas after three straight defeats.

Richard Lee could return in goal after David Button’s mistakes in the last two matches resulted in goals, defender Martin Taylor was hauled off at Stevenage five minutes into the second half and Marcello Trotta’s place in attack will also be under threat.

Colchester are unlikely to be able to welcome back any of their injured players for the trip to Brentford.

Defender Ryan Dickson is closing in on his return after illness but still needs another week of training under his belt before being back in contention.

Defender Josh Thompson was this week told he must undergo ankle surgery, ruling him out for another three months, while winger Drey Wright is already recovering from a knee operation.

Sanchez Watt (thigh), Mark Cousins (foot), Tom Eastman (ankle) and Mason Spence (hamstring) are also set to remain on the sidelines.

Brentford have no new injury problems for the visit of Colchester.

Midfielders Toumani Diagouraga and Kevin O’Connor came off nursing slight knocks during last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Walsall but manager Uwe Rosler says everyone is available.

The only absentee is Stuart Dallas, who yet to make an appearance for the Bees so far. The winger is on international duty with Northern Ireland’s Under-21’s.

Jake Bidwell is pushing to replace Scott Barron at left-back after his successful introduction as a substitute on Saturday.

The 19-year-old is in line for his first start since rejoining the Bees on loan from Everton.

On-loan Norwich midfielder Tom Adeyemi was an unused sub at Walsall and is hoping to make his debut.

John Ward will be pondering changes for Colchester.

The U’s boss watched his side put in a positive first-half performance against Tranmere last weekend before being blown away after the break to go down 4-0 at Prenton Park.

Ward and his squad have had this week to mull over the heavy defeat and changes are inevitable at Griffin Park.

Ian Henderson, Gavin Massey, John-Joe O’Toole and Kem Izzet are among those in contention to start, while youngster Freddie Ladapo could earn a place in the matchday 18 having bagged for the club’s reserves for the third successive match in midweek.

Colchester remain without a win in any competition from their five games so far this season.

Brentford have no fresh injury concerns.

The Bees lie in fourth place in the League One table following their fifth league win of the season against Wycombe.

And manager Uwe Rosler has the option of bringing Blair Adams and Miguel Llera in to his starting XI should he choose to tinker with his in-form side.

Left-back Adams joined on a three-month loan spell from Sunderland and centre-half Llera has arrived on a similar deal from Blackpool.

Rosler dipped into the loan market with Shaleum Logan (ankle), Leon Legge (hamstring), Sam Saunders (knee), Gary Alexander (knee), Toumani Diagouraga (knee) and Kirk Hudson (hip) all in the treatment room.

Colchester will assess Magnus Okuonghae and John-Joe O’Toole ahead of the clash.

Centre-back Okuonghae missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient having failed a fitness test on an ankle injury sustained in training.

Midfielder O’Toole, meanwhile, was forced off due to injury just before the hour mark and both will be given as late as possible to prove their fitness.

Pat Baldwin came in for Okuonghae in manager John Ward’s only change, having kept faith with the same line-up for the previous two league games.

Ashley Vincent (knee) and Bradley Hamilton (fractured cheekbone) remain sidelined.

On-loan Reading winger Michail Antonio plays the last game of his initial spell but is set to extend his stay by another month.

Sam Saunders is an injury doubt for Brentford.

The in-form winger limped out of the 1-0 win at Rochdale with an ankle knock which could be a recurrence of the injury which kept him out for three weeks recently.

Striker Gary Alexander (knee) and defender Leon Legge (groin) missed out against Dale and will be checked over.

Goalkeeper Richard Lee is still out with a shoulder injury and loan cover Trevor Carson has gone back to Sunderland for treatment on a knee problem, so rookie Simon Moore keeps his place with coach Simon Royce, 39, on the bench.

Charlie MacDonald is also on the sidelines with an ankle injury and fellow forward Nicholas Bignall has returned to parent club Reading.

David Perkins will be missing from the Colchester squad but the midfielder should be back before the end of the season.

Perkins feared his campaign was over when he suffered a hamstring injury against Sheffield Wednesday three weeks ago.

But manager John Ward says the former Rochdale man has an outside chance of travelling to Yeovil next weekend.

Ward has no new injuries to contend with but may make changes following last week’s 4-1 drubbing at Carlisle.

Centre-halves Magnus Okuonghae (ankle) and Pat Baldwin (Achilles) remain long-term absentees, while winger Simon Hackney has returned to the Community Stadium from his loan spell at League Two Oxford for treatment on a hamstring strain.
