Ian Wright: Kodos to Lowe for goal

Ian Wright was delighted for Ryan Lowe after the MK Dons striker ended his barren run by scoring against Leyton Orient.

The 34-year-old bagged only his second goal of the season just before half-time and Wright felt Lowe's winner was richly deserved after his excellent performances in training were finally transferred onto the stadium:mk pitch.

"I'm pleased for Ryan Lowe because it's been a pretty difficult season for him in the respect of having chances to actually play," said the Dons first-team coach.

"To see him get one and for us to keep a clean sheet is a good result, it's something to build on.

"It's all about confidence, that's what we work on when we do the finishing in training. When you watch what the boys do in training it's as good as anything I've seen - and I've been around - but once you get on the pitch it's a different state of mind. You have to take the training state of mind and finish with that kind of aplomb and that confidence."

Wright added: "I was pleased for Ryan because he's worked hard, he gave his body up, he held the ball up well for us - which is not natural to him - then he's getting back in the box.

"If I was playing in this team I would just stay in and around the box because they do make chances - I've been telling him to do that and he's got his rewards."
