Joe Dunne hopes to extend his honeymoon period as Colchester boss when the U's tackle Coventry on Tuesday night.

Dunne has enjoyed a dream start in the United hotseat, with Saturday's victory over Bury taking the club's impressive points tally to 19 from their last 10 fixtures.

Dunne took over following the departure of previous boss John Ward in September, and he and his assistant, fellow Irishman Mark Kinsella, have masterminded United's rise up the League One table.

Only two other managers in Colchester's history have bettered Dunne's start.

Ian Atkins led the U's to 21 points in his first 10 matches in the Conference, whilst Cyril Lea also picked up the same total in his opening matches in charge.
