Ronnie Moore claimed winning is all that matters after watching his Tranmere side stay top of League One with a victory over Crawley.

First-half goals from debutant David Amoo and Zoumana Bakayogo proved the difference as Rovers retained their place at the summit on goal difference from Doncaster.

"It's pleasing we've come off and we're still top of the league and there are only 19 to go now - we're counting them down," he said.

"It was a tough game, they're a good side. They don't come much tougher. We've ground it out, rather than being fantastic. We've had to dig deep at times and we've defended well when we've had too, the clean sheet is the most pleasing thing.

"Defensively they've not created that many chances, but they've had a lot of possession. But it's all about putting it in the back of the net which they haven't done.

"There's no doubt that we've pushed on when we've needed to recently. People are going to sit up and take notice that the bubble hasn't burst and we keep going.

"It gives you breathing space. We're 12 points clear of Crawley and four wins is a lot to make up. I think the gap is ten points with the play-offs. Listen to me talking about play-offs. We would have been happy with 50 points six months ago.

"We've just got to keep going. If it's meant to be, it'll happen there's no doubt about that. But all we can do is try our best."
