Bristol City v Notts C preview

Bristol City will be without goalkeeper Frank Fielding when they tackle Notts County.

The former Derby shot-stopper is unavailable having pulled a bicep muscle so Cardiff loanee Simon Moore, who saved a penalty in the victory at Walsall last weekend, will get the nod from the start once more.

Moore’s inclusion means one of City’s six loanees will have to miss out at Ashton Gate as Football League rules only allow five in the matchday squad.

Manager Steve Cotterill, who led the Magpies to promotion from League Two back in 2010, will be without Marvin Elliott and Aden Flint who will not feature again this season while Joe Bryan’s knee injury will be monitored.

Haydn Hollis’ return from suspension presents Notts County boss Shaun Derry with a dilemma ahead of the trip to Bristol City.

Derry must decide whether to restore Hollis at centre-half or stick with the same defence that started the 4-2 home victory over Port Vale.

After seeing the Magpies overturn a two-goal deficit to win last weekend, any changes are likely to be kept to a minimum. However, Derry has the likes of Mustapha Dumbuya, Manny Smith, Callum McGregor, Andre Boucaud and Nathan Tyson available should he wish to tweak things.

Notts, who on Thursday extended Josh Vela’s loan spell from Bolton until the end of the season, head to Ashton Gate with just goal difference keeping them out of the Sky Bet League One relegation zone.
