Oldham v Gillingham preview

Oldham will be without defender Genseric Kusunga, midfielder Anton Rodgers and captain Korey Smith when they entertain Gillingham.

Kusunga was sent off last time out against MK Dons and will now serve a two-match suspension as it was his second dismissal of the campaign.

Meanwhile Rodgers has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a knee injury while Smith, who boss Lee Johnson feared could miss the entire season, may be back next week after having a minor operation on his knee.

Striker Kirk Millar recently saw a loan move to Stockport put on hold after picking up a knock in training while recent signing Rhys Turner is still building himself back up to full fitness from a hamstring tear.

Gillingham will be without Ryan Inniss for the trip to Oldham but Elliott Hewitt is expected to return to contention.

On-loan centre-back Inniss made his debut in Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United but was forced off in the build-up to the match-winning goal nursing a hamstring injury. He is now set to remain on the sidelines for two to three weeks.

Hewitt, meanwhile, missed the clash altogether due to illness but it is hoped he should recover in time to feature at Boundary Park.

Striker Danny Kedwell (hernia) remains sidelined as the Gills look to get back to winning ways.
