Sheffield United pinch victory

Alex Gilbey hit a post for the hosts in the fifth minute and Blades goalkeeper Mark Howard denied Freddie Sears, before the U’s took the lead just after the half hour.

George Moncur headed in at the second attempt after his initial effort from Gavin Massey’s low cross had been saved by Howard at point-blank range.

U’s goalkeeper Sam Walker denied Craig Alcock while at the other end, Neill Collins’s goal-line clearance thwarted Sears.

But Sears made it 2-0 with 13 minutes remaining when he slotted into an empty net, after keeper Howard had failed to hold onto the ball in the area.

However, Ben Davies pulled a goal back with seven minutes remaining with a low finish, before substitute Ryan Flynn prodded in Bob Harris’ pass to equalise.

And the Blades’ superb comeback was complete two minutes later when Harris scored from the penalty spot, after Gilbey fouled Stefan Scougall in the area.
