Rochdale cruise past Yeovil

admin

Keith Hill’s men continued their form as one of the league’s top scorers on the road with goals from Jack O’Connell and an Ian Henderson double.

The opener arrived after just five minutes when O’Connell was afforded the chance to place his header unchallenged past Artur Krysiak.

The Glovers looked susceptible to any sort of cross and fell two down in the 16th minute when Ryan Inniss’ weak defensive header fell to the feet of Dale skipper Henderson who could not miss.

Yeovil’s Manchester City loanee Jordy Hiwula was unlucky not to pull one back before the break, denied only by an excellent save from Conrad Logan.

Rochdale went 3-0 up in the 52nd minute when Matt Done’s purposeful left-wing run and looped cross was nodded in by Henderson at the far post for his seventh goal of the campaign.

The hosts, who were playing in the Championship last season, were booed off the pitch, while the 243 travelling fans left with the play-off places in their sights.
